5/9/11-Integrating Code
Has being a "producer" (of your wiki, blog and game) rather than just a "consumer" changed how you think about media? Why or why not?
Comment on the blog of another Globaloria student in your Knowledge Community!
Yes, I realize how hard it can be to create a video game now, and our games aren't even close to being as complex as the real games sold in stores. I have gained so much respect for the coders of video games everywhere, it's one of the hardest and most annoying things I've ever had to do. I've always had respect for the designers of video games but my respect has grown even more now.

5/6/11-Developmental Plan
What is the most difficult concept to teach for your topic? How are you finding tutorials and thinking about design to teach others this concept?
I don't really think teaching my topic is very difficult (knock on wood.) but if I had to pick one thing I would say it would have to be including the history of the art and the artist into my gameplay. I'm mainly just using the wiki site and using the tutorials on there to see how to do the stuff I need, I am also getting more experienced classmates to help me.

4/6/11-Adding Sound
How do you plan to use sound in your game? How will it help enhance the game play and learning experience of your game?
I plan to use sound for buttons and for my ostrich. I am planning to have the ostrich make noises at random moments in the game. I am also planning to have music playing in the background. It will enhance the game play so it won't be a boring silence the whole game. instead there is sounds and music playing making it (hopefully) not boring.

Adding Input I: Keyboard-4/6/11
Reflect on the class so far. Do you like working in flash? Why or why not?
This class has gone a lot smoother than Game Design I, and I've gotten a lot more done in this class. Plus, I'm having a lot more fun in this class and the people are better at helping me than in the last class. My experience in Flash has been so much better this time around than the last. I actually know what I am doing, which helps.

Adding Animation-4/6/11
I guess looking at this your wondering how this relates to my game what so ever. Well, I am using an ostrich in my game as the main character. That is also very original cause ostriches are barely or never used in games.

St. Paddy's Day-3/17/11-Adding Scenes
Creating scenes in a sequence helps game designers tell the "story" of their game through a narrative. How are you using visual storytelling through your sequence of scenes to help players learn about your topic? What are examples of games you played in the Playing to Learn topic that use storytelling to teach a concept well? How have other narrative games influenced your game?
I am using my artwork to help tell the story of my game. I hope that the art will enhance how the player plays the game and enjoys it. I actually do love art. I've drawn all my life, so if there is a chance the artwork I create will help tell the story of my game, that would be awesome to me. I'm using my visual effects to create a story because there will be no dialogue in my game. There haven't been many, if at all any games that I have seen that have used story telling. There hasn't been any game that helped influence my game.

3/7/11-Drawing A Scene
List a new idea or concept (not just a "fact") you've learned about your game topic since you started this course. How did you come to learn this? What sources where helpful to you in gaining this understanding? What makes these news or research sources especially informative and trustworthy?
While I have been working on my game, I have learned more about the history of art, and the most popular genres and eras of art. I will incorporate both of these things into my game. I have been on at least three art museum websites and saw what they said was the most popular art genres and periods. They are trustworthy because critics have reviewed these sites and I only use trustworthy sites, no answer.com, ask.com, etc.

2/15/11-Planning Your Game
My team consists of me, myself and I. In Game Design 1 I was only the designer and graphic artist of the game. Now I have a lot more responsibility getting everything finished and doing the coding of the game. I am pretty worried about having to all the coding by myself since I'm not to good at it at all. I'm definitely dreading the coding of the game since in Game Design I I could never get the scrolling background to work.

Imagining Your Game- 2/10/11
1. Reflect on Your Game Idea
Copy and answer ALL of these questions about your Game Idea in a blog post:
- WHO are you designing your game for? (Include the player's age, abilities, and prior knowledge of your topic.)
My game will be for any age group, and it will be very simple so anyone can play it. Prior knowledge for my game won't be necessary.
- WHAT will your game teach the player about your topic? (Be specific!)
It will teach the player about old pieces of art and the artists who painted them, it will show the artwork and facts about it, then you must retrieve the piece of art from robbers.
- WHERE does your game happen?
My game takes place in a museum.
Describe the world you will design for your game.
The inside of a museum and will have other educational stuff.
How will this setting add to the learning experience?
The setting won't really make a difference for the learning experience it's just there to look good and make the game look better.
- HOW does your game world teach the player about your topic?
- The world of my game won't teach anything to the player.
- What happens in the world that helps the player learn?
- Art gets robbed and you have to go around the museum and try to find it.
- How does the player use what they learned to make something happen in the game?
- They collect pieces of a painting and at the end it makes a what the original painting.
- WHY is a game a better way of understanding your topic than a quiz?
- Because it's not boring and you actually move a character to collect things.

Playing To Learn- 2/07/11
The Game topics I found most interesting were Action and racing. They were fun but not very educational. There were a lot of good and educational games, but they were not as fun. The two games that were my favorite were Robot Unicorn Attack and Drift Runners.
For my game it will be an educational action/adventure game. I will make it the best I possibly can. It will be touch making it educational but I will give it a shot.
Robot Unicorn Attack was a very awesome game.

2/4/11-Choosing a Topic
Name: Casey
Topic: Art
I chose art because I love art class and when you put the topic of art with the right idea it could be a really cool fun game. It will definitely be hard to get the right idea. It will hopefully turn out to be a cool and educational game people will like to play often.

2/2/11-Internet Privacy
Write a Blog post reflecting on why you need to protect your privacy on the Internet.
The reason internet privacy is so important is because a lot of people keep personal and private information on websites and if that is found or stolen by the wrong people it could lead to identity theft and other bad, bad things that happen to people.

First Blog-1/31/11
Blog your reaction to the "Did You Know?" video that we watched in class. What does it mean to be living in exponential times? Give evidence that we are living in exponential times. Tell me what technical devices and softwares that you know how to use now that you did not know how to use two years ago. Why did you need/want to learn how to use them?
I like the video, it has information that is pretty cool to know. Living in exponential times means that there is a bunch of things that we knew that are majorly changing around us. I have learned how to use the software Dreamweaver, iPod Touch, LG Neon (my phone), Mac computer. I've always wondered why Macs were considered the best computers so I took classes where we used them. Dreamweaver because I took Webpage Design.
